APPLICATION OF A NEW COMBINED DRUG IN THE TREATMENT OF DRY EYE SYNDROME

Abstract


Dry eye syndrome (DES) is polyetiological disease. The study of the pathogenesis of DES and the ultrastructure of the tear fi lm has shown the need to create medications that can not only replace some differentiated layers of the tear fi lm, but can also promote the regeneration of corneal defects and the relief of infl ammatory symptoms. In this regard, the infl uence of hypotonic, sterile solution «Tealoz Duo» with a neutral pH, containing 3% trehalose and 0.15% hyaluronic acid on the clinical symptoms of dry eye syndrome by 44 eyes was studied. In 8 patients with a combination of DES with noninfectious blepharitis napkins «Blefaklin» (Thea Pharma GmbH) for hygiene and treatment of infl ammation of the eyelid margins were additionally used.
Application instillations «Tealoz Duo» 5 times a day for 30 days signifi cantly increases the amount of total tear production, tear fi lm stability and reduces the Ocular surface index indicators that is accompanied by achievement of the corneal surface epithelialization in 90.1% of cases.
DES treatment, accompanied by noninfectious blepharitis, is more successfully with the use of eye drops «Tealoz Duo» along with napkins «Blefaklin».
