Abstract

Object – to study the practical value of traditional X-ray and multispiral computer tomography in diagnostics of pathological changes of nasolacrimal duct in children Materials and methods. 45 X-ray results and 52 computer tomograms with contrasted nasolacrymal ducts of children with recurrent dacryocystitis have been analyzed.
Results. We have found some failings (spatial layers of contrast and bone structures, no specifi c information on the length of obliteration) which decrease the value of X-ray diagnostics in case of pathology of nasolacrimal duct of children. 
Conclusions. Computer tomography with contrasting of nasolacrimal duct in axial projection with coronary 3D-reconstruction allows us to obtain a specifi c and clear image of width and confi guration of its aperture.
